Parvoviruses (family Parvoviridae) are small, resilient, non-enveloped viruses with linear, single-stranded DNA genomes ranging from 4 to 6 kilobases. Due to their genetic constraints, most parvoviruses rely on actively dividing host cells and exhibit host or tissue specificity. They can cause a range of diseases, from subclinical to lethal.
